About the position

The Manager of Digital Product Management at American Express is responsible for leading the transformation of the Loyalty platforms that support global Card Member capabilities. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams, prioritizing product backlogs, and ensuring high-quality feature launches. The position requires a strong understanding of the payment and loyalty domain, as well as the ability to build consensus among stakeholders to drive product initiatives effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Enterprise Platforms to leverage best practices and evaluate new opportunities.
  • Establish a robust product strategy using market research and internal stakeholder analysis.
  • Engage with business teams to understand current and future needs.
  • Build a strong understanding of the payment and loyalty domain and competitive landscape.
  • Manage a product backlog of features and capabilities in collaboration with business teams.
  • Translate features into prioritized user stories and manage work allocation of scrum teams.
  • Participate in and support agile practices and ceremonies to reinforce agile transformation.
  • Communicate and build consensus across teams to create solutions for business needs.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience in Software Product Management with a proven track record in defining product constructs and delivering a product roadmap.
  • Hands-on experience in building a distributed technology stack and transitioning from mainframe to distributed systems.
  • Strong team skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Proven experience with agile and scrum software development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to consult with stakeholders and drive optimal requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks.
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and associated products is desirable.
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline required; Master's degree preferred.
