About The Position

Scout Motors is seeking a Manager of Material Disposition NAR/CKD to lead the ramp-up of material planning and control operations with suppliers in the NAR Region, including Just-in-time Suppliers. This role is pivotal in establishing a robust supply chain to ensure a consistent material supply at the Scout Motors plant in South Carolina. The Manager will report directly to the Inbound Director and will be responsible for defining planning concepts and projects that will shape the material planning and control department. This includes creating user manuals and departmental procedures to monitor material flow from suppliers to the production line, analyzing requirements, and identifying bottlenecks in the supply chain. The Manager will actively support suppliers in defining necessary processes such as transportation, infrastructure, packaging, scheduling, and equipment to ensure a cost-effective and reliable supply chain. This role also involves contributing to the forward sourcing and global sourcing processes, preparing logistic audits, and ensuring that logistics standards meet Scout's expectations. Collaboration with the Purchasing Department is essential to establish procedures that guarantee timely parts supply based on production capacity and demand, while also considering quality requirements amidst changing conditions like model changes or new car launches. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for early identification of potential risks in production or supply chain, developing countermeasures, and planning emergency procedures for quick communication and decision-making in case of material shortages. Building and nurturing constructive communication with suppliers is crucial to ensure planned production volumes and ramp-up curves are met. The role also includes establishing material flow processes and networks that leverage group synergies in the NAR region, as well as supporting the recruitment and qualification of personnel to meet project production milestones. This position requires a collaborative approach and adherence to existing guidelines, standards, and regulations, while also managing the department budget and implementing KPIs for process control.
