About the position
The Manager Division Microbiology Laboratory at Corewell Health is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the microbiology laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and corporate policies. This role involves managing personnel, equipment, quality, safety, and financial activities while coordinating with medical directors and site leadership to optimize laboratory operations and maintain patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the microbiology laboratory including equipment, policies, procedures, quality, safety, personnel, and financial activities.
- Coordinate laboratory operations with system and site operations and medical directors.
- Implement optimized department test menus for each Beaumont Health campus.
- Create processes that maintain patient safety.
- Report to the pathologist and operations director of the assigned department.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Histotechnology, or related science (e.g., Biochemistry, Microbiology).
- 3 - 5 years' experience in the laboratory discipline being applied for.
- ASCP Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification required.
- ASCP Medical Technologist, Certified (MT) preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (CSSBB) preferred.
