About the position

The Manager of Education Product Development at AMPP is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and digital implementation of educational products. This role focuses on creating relevant content and delivery mechanisms that align with organizational revenue goals and global delivery needs. The position involves leading product development from concept to market launch, ensuring that educational offerings meet current and future industry demands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Educational product development, strategy, and redesign from concept through development to market launch.
  • Shift existing Educational product development practices to align more closely with user experience principles.
  • Develop Educational products by reviewing market research and customer needs, generating product requirements, and determining specifications and production timetables.
  • Evaluate and integrate technology and best practices in adult learning, instructional design, and product lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with Product Portfolio Managers to synchronize product development work with business needs.
  • Design a sustainable Subject-Matter-Expert-driven system for Educational product development.
  • Implement a workload management system for AMPP development staff and third-party providers.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers and service providers for performance management and cost control.
  • Represent Educational Product Development on cross-functional teams, aligning new products with branding and sales objectives.
  • Coordinate with members and industry experts to ensure timely development and sunsetting of education products.
  • Maintain relationships with other learning associations to enhance AMPP's competitive position.
  • Communicate professionally with all levels of AMPP staff, members, and customers to ensure a positive brand image.
  • Hire, develop, coach, and inspire talent to maintain succession planning and achieve organizational goals.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree in Technology Management, Business Management, Product Development, or a related subject.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Educational Product Development and/or User Experience Design/Development.
  • Demonstrated experience with Reusable Learning Objects and XML-based content development.
  • Experience creating Educational Products and Services specific to the heavy industrial market.
  • Experience in a commercial, customer-facing Educational Product Development capacity.
