About the position

The position is responsible for implementing projects and activities of the Education Program, providing first-line customer service to members, students, and prospective members regarding the Academy's education programs. The role involves managing various educational events, overseeing continuing education courses, and ensuring compliance with accreditation guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Annual Meeting Lectures and Workshops, Scientific Program, and Residents Program proposal and abstract submission processes.
  • Execute the processing and distribution of speaker agreement letters.
  • Manage education committee meetings content and structure.
  • Communicate with presenters regarding scheduling changes and maintain online documentation.
  • Manage the review processes for all submissions from various committees.
  • Format and submit educational content for Program Preview and online programs.
  • Work with IT to implement changes and ensure website content accuracy.
  • Coordinate logistical requirements for educational programs, including audio-visual and room setup.
  • Arrange for temporary staffing of education sessions and order signage for Annual Meeting education sessions.
  • Communicate with Academy members and the public about education programs and respond to inquiries.
  • Archive printed materials and reports from the annual meeting.
  • Serve as staff liaison to various committees related to education programs.
  • Oversee management of Continuing Education courses and provide customer service regarding CE certificates.
  • Develop and manage year-round online education programs.
  • Secure CE program approval from accrediting bodies and ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Solicit proposals for CEE providers and facilitate online submission of abstracts and course proposals.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets, email programs, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with databases is essential.
  • Knowledge of adult education and educational content delivery systems.
  • Understanding of organization, planning, records management, research, and general administration principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous association or non-profit program management experience, including meeting experience.
