About the position

The Manager of Electrical Business is responsible for achieving sales and gross margin rate budgets within large metropolitan areas. This role involves implementing market plans to assist the district in meeting its sales and marketing objectives in the Electrical market. The manager typically oversees a team of sales representatives and a sales support team, managing an annual budget exceeding $14 million.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business plans that support the Electrical market within the assigned territory.
  • Work with sales personnel to create tactical plans for implementing the district plan.
  • Establish annual sales and gross margin rates for applicable sales reps within the district.
  • Evaluate industry and business trends for potential impacts on the district.
  • Identify key business opportunities and potential threats within the assigned sales territory.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure effective recruiting, staffing, employee development, and performance management programs are in place.
  • Assist in developing tools and training programs to support Electrical business growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 11+ years of progressively responsible business or wholesale distribution industry experience.
  • High school diploma or GED is required; a four-year degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the wholesale distribution industry and the Electrical business.
  • Knowledge of the company's policies, procedures, and financial analysis methods.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
