About the position

The Manager, Electrical Systems Engineering is responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians in the design and development of 3-phase power products. This role requires strong technical knowledge and excellent leadership skills to mentor team members effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles and experience in managing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of electrical and system engineers and technicians.
  • Support development of project schedules, resource plans, and capital budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Drive product innovation and reliability by bringing extensive experience and new ideas/technologies.
  • Manage the team's day-to-day responsibilities and report status.
  • Assign priorities to the team and assist them with solving problems and escalating issues when needed.
  • Ensure technical documentation and test results are complete and properly recorded for future reference.
  • Lead the team in continuous improvement, best practices, and process documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; MS in engineering or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of product development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of full product design cycle and the engineering disciplines.
  • Experience in 3-phase power system engineering.
  • Experience in engineering and design validation testing.
  • Familiarity with electrical circuit design and PCB layout.
  • Experience in root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards and testing (UL, IEC, DOE, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to summarize and communicate complex technical topics to a broad audience.
  • 100% fluent in English; Spanish language skill a plus but not required.
