About the position

The Manager, Electrical Systems Engineering is responsible for leading a team of 10-15 engineers and technicians in the design and development of 3-phase power products. This role requires strong technical knowledge, as well as excellent coaching and leadership skills to guide and mentor team members. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, experience with 3-phase power, a systems engineering background, an understanding of printed circuit board design and development, and experience in developing and managing a high-performing team. In this position, you will lead, mentor, and coach a team of electrical and system engineers and technicians. You will support the development of project schedules, resource plans, and capital budgets. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure that project requirements are met. You will bring extensive experience and new ideas/technologies to the table to drive product innovation and reliability. Managing the team's day-to-day responsibilities and reporting status will be a key part of your role. You will assign priorities to the team and assist them with solving problems and escalating issues when needed. Additionally, you will ensure that technical documentation and test results are complete and properly recorded for future reference. Leading the team in continuous improvement, best practices, and process documentation will also be part of your responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of electrical and system engineers and technicians.
  • Support development of project schedules, resource plans, and capital budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Drive product innovation and reliability by bringing extensive experience and new ideas/technologies.
  • Manage the team's day-to-day responsibilities and report status.
  • Assign priorities to the team and assist them with solving problems and escalating issues when needed.
  • Ensure technical documentation and test results are complete and properly recorded for future reference.
  • Lead the team in continuous improvement, best practices, and process documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; MS in engineering or MBA preferred.
  • 10 years of product development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of full product design cycle and the engineering disciplines.
  • Experience in 3-phase power system engineering.
  • Experience in engineering and design validation testing.
  • Familiarity with electrical circuit design and PCB layout.
  • Experience in root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards and testing (UL, IEC, DOE, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to summarize and successfully communicate complex technical topics quickly to a broad range of people, including non-technical and leadership audiences.
  • 100% fluent in English; Spanish language skill a plus but not required.
