About the position

The Manager, Electrical Test Engineering at Collins Aerospace is responsible for overseeing an Electrical Test Engineering group that designs, implements, and maintains test processes for Space Systems hardware. This role emphasizes the application of lean philosophies and techniques to ensure effective product manufacturing and testing, while also driving corrective actions and interfacing with various engineering departments to meet customer commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Drive action in the development, planning & implementation of timely and effective corrective actions for problems during product manufacturing and testing.
  • Interface aspects of the engineering department including testing and data analysis.
  • Interpret and analyze customer test requirements and provide cost estimates to support an appropriate test program.
  • Daily interface with Program, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering organizations to ensure customer committed hardware and data deliveries are consistently met.
  • Support objectives for operating budgets, capital plans, and cost savings targets.
  • Ensure that utilization and labor efficiency are achieved.
  • Assess training and skills to ensure no critical skills gaps.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required due to access restrictions under this program/contract.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience, or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced instrumentation and data acquisition systems is required.
  • Knowledge of LabVIEW is desired.
  • Experience should also include 7+ years working on the testing of electrical systems and components such as motor controllers, actuator controls, & system controllers.
  • Experience with a MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) system is desirable.
