About the position

The Manager, Employee Relations role is a pivotal position within Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, focusing on providing comprehensive Employee Relations guidance across various business sectors, including manufacturing, commercial, and medical fields. This role involves leading workplace investigations, advising HR and management on employee relations issues, and enhancing the overall employee experience in a growing global biotechnology organization.

Responsibilities

  • Research and address employee relations issues in partnership with the Global Head of People Relations.
  • Provide guidance and advice to HR colleagues and managers on employee relations issues, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead workplace investigations in collaboration with HR, Legal, and Compliance, making actionable recommendations.
  • Coach managers on performance management, conduct concerns, leave of absence requests, and accommodation requests.
  • Investigate HR-focused matters, conducting interviews, reviewing data, and drafting reports with recommendations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of cases and communications.
  • Assist with investigations led by Compliance and/or Legal as needed.
  • Continuously improve internal guides for People Managers and HR regarding separation processes and workplace investigations.
  • Design and analyze Exit Interview data, conducting interviews and follow-up communications as necessary.
  • Manage the incident management system, ensuring timely documentation of people relations matters.
  • Provide data analysis and reporting to highlight trends in employee relations and drive proactive solutions.
  • Create and conduct training for HR and managers on employee relations topics in partnership with Legal and Compliance.
  • Manage projects related to Employee Relations training for HR and people managers.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in employee relations, labor law, compliance, or a similar field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (such as HR) or an employment law degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Experience leading investigations of alleged improper conduct.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and compassion.
  • Strong ethics and integrity mindset.
  • Stellar project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in designing and delivering successful training programs.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and incident management systems.
