About the position

The Manager of Employee Relations at Ford Motor Company plays a crucial role in resolving employee-related issues, ensuring compliance with labor agreements, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This position involves collaboration with HR leadership and other departments to manage conflicts, disputes, and disciplinary matters while maintaining accurate documentation and effective communication strategies. The role also includes overseeing the Employee Relations team and contributing to the development of long-term employee relations goals aligned with the company's business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage resolution of employee union and work council relations issues, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Distribute and assign casework to the Employee Relations team, monitoring workload and trends.
  • Develop and monitor case quality to ensure positive experiences and create internal reporting templates for HR management.
  • Assist in designing and implementing performance management systems, providing guidance to managers on performance-related issues.
  • Respond to and resolve discrimination charges and complaints, coordinating with legal counsel as necessary.
  • Develop long-term plans for employee relations goals in line with the organization's strategy and objectives.
  • Participate in delivering HR communications and policies related to employee contracts and workplace conduct.
  • Oversee maintenance of accurate and confidential employee records related to employee relations matters.
  • Perform talent management responsibilities including recruitment, performance management, and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with a Master's degree or 8 years with a Bachelor's degree in Employee Relations or a related field.
  • Experience in interpreting and administering labor agreements and compliance with employment laws.
