About the position

The Manager Engineering 1 position at Northrop Grumman involves leading a team of engineers and technicians in the Tactical Space Systems Division. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing personnel, and ensuring the successful execution of environmental testing programs. The manager will interact with various stakeholders and is expected to provide technical leadership, manage budgets, and support the professional development of team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians, leads, and engineers in the Environmental Test group.
• Manage daily operations, including staff supervision, work assignments, and workflow management.
• Oversee cost, schedule, and technical performance of the Thermal Vacuum test facility.
• Conduct periodic performance evaluations and provide technical guidance to staff.
• Develop testing execution plans to meet program schedules and coordinate testing tasks across disciplines.
• Provide environmental test operation status to upper management and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of supervisory experience or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Integration and Test or Environmental Test.
• Familiarity with Northrop Grumman processes and training in Crane operations, Forklift, Thermal Vacuum, and other Environmental Testing disciplines.
• Experience in Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines.
• Experience in the Aerospace and/or Defense industry.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI access.
