About The Position

The Manager of Engineering / Strategic Portfolio is responsible for overseeing capital water management projects from inception to completion. This role involves collaboration with various teams and external partners to ensure projects are planned, engineered, and executed safely and on time, while managing budgets and resources effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Electrical).
• 10+ years of engineering, project management, or construction management experience.
• Experience leading technical/project teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and other standard office software.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Project Planning and Engineering group to develop labor, equipment, and material estimates and construction sequences for project schedules and budgets.
• Provide management with input to ensure sound front-end planning and realistic construction timelines.
• Collaborate on project planning and coordinate efforts with relevant departments.
• Manage capital spending and budgets in conjunction with site leadership teams.
• Lead the capital budgeting process for the water portfolio, overseeing project forecasting, accruals, and deferral processes.
• Enforce the use of the Capital Process Management Process.
• Collaborate on creating future year forecasts and execute front-end engineering and scoping for accurate forecasting.
• Coach and develop team members to become effective project engineers and coordinators.
• Enforce the company's safety culture and lead safety initiatives, including safety observation reporting.
