About the position

The Manager, Enterprise Payments Product Operations at American Express is a pivotal role within the Global Merchant & Network Services group, focusing on enhancing operational excellence for payment execution. This position involves managing critical business operations, governance activities, and risk management for Multi-Rail payment products. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various teams to drive outcomes, streamline workflows, and support the development of innovative payment services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance on documentation of Operational Risk Events (OREs) type, urgency, severity/impact.
  • Support go-to-market product strategies to ensure risks are assessed and mitigation plans are implemented.
  • Manage end-to-end issues, operational risk events (OREs), and corrective action plans (CAPs) related to payments.
  • Use data analytics to produce reporting and analyze trends in OREs and other control gaps.
  • Partner with Process Assurance teams to build a robust control environment for regulatory compliance processes.
  • Drive product oversight by managing all product governance activities including RCSA, PRSAs, TLM, and controls testing.
  • Measure, monitor, and report on product metrics including usage, volumes, customer trends, and performance.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows and scale product management processes.
  • Drive New Product Development Charter, ensuring consistent product documentation and approvals across Multi-Rail payment products.
  • Drive operational readiness activities for new products and processes.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Experience with global non-card payments (ACH, wire, RTP) preferred.
  • Understanding of operational risk concepts and programs.
  • Proven strong project management skills in complex organizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for multiple audiences.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to balance priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience or willingness to learn data extraction and working with data queries on Amex platforms.
