About the position

The Manager of Enterprise Quality Engineering & Test Automation at Costco IT is responsible for leading a team focused on global test automation and quality assurance. This role involves overseeing team performance, developing strategic visions, and ensuring alignment with company goals. The manager will drive continuous optimization of automation solutions and uphold best practices in testing, while fostering a culture of engagement and open communication within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and lead a team of employees in the Enterprise Quality Engineering & Test Automation department.
  • Oversee global enterprise test automation and quality assurance tooling.
  • Create mock integration services and oversee service virtualization.
  • Drive continuous optimization of automation solutions and capture critical testing insights.
  • Ensure alignment of team actions with the larger goals of the company and IT Division.
  • Foster a culture of engagement, trust, and open communication within the team.
  • Coach and mentor employees to support their performance and career development.
  • Establish and refine metrics focused on reliability, availability, capacity, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with project teams to achieve operational and reliability objectives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience in Quality Engineering and Automation roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud ecosystems (Azure, Google).
  • Experience with automation tools and Infrastructure-as-code approaches.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate teams.
  • Experience in recruiting and managing a team of engineers and architects.
  • Prior experience in defining measurable success criteria for Quality Engineering and Automation.
  • Ability to form strong partnerships and collaborate with enterprise teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • Experience managing or leading a software development or support team in a large organization.
  • Experience developing and debugging CI/CD pipelines.
