About the position

The Manager, Estimating position at DSV is responsible for overseeing the estimating team and ensuring that bids and pricing inquiries are handled efficiently and professionally. This role involves guiding the team in identifying cost factors, collaborating with various stakeholders, and maintaining accurate pricing databases to support competitive bidding processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the estimating team and workflows to ensure timely responses to bids and pricing inquiries.
• Provide assistance and guidance to the team in identifying and quantifying cost factors such as transport, materials handling, inspection, storage, and labor expenses.
• Assist the team in identifying the scope of work, schedules, and technical documents for preparing estimates.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, clients, and internal stakeholders to foster relationships.
• Recommend solutions for cost reductions and improved profitability.
• Monitor adherence to correct processes and procedures.
• Maintain a database of historical and current pricing.
• Ensure the use of Cargowise for spot bids and monitor the quote register.
• Assist in the preparation of bids and estimates, tracking win/loss ratios in Cargowise and the quote register.
• Promote a culture of health and safety and participate in safety reviews and progress meetings.
• Create and develop an enjoyable working environment that encourages free thinking and milestone delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field (required).
• 3+ years of progressive experience in estimating.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
