About the position

The Event Experience Manager at Tyler Technologies is responsible for curating and delivering exceptional event experiences that foster engagement, loyalty, and retention among attendees. This role focuses on experiential design, ensuring that events convey a clear message and are tailored to meet the needs of diverse audiences. The manager will lead a team of event planners, analyze attendee preferences, and implement innovative strategies to enhance the overall event experience, ultimately driving higher engagement and attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop engaging content for events.
  • Tailor event content to reinforce high-level messages and themes.
  • Incorporate client-led and industry expert-led sessions into events.
  • Encourage interactive session formats such as panels and roundtables.
  • Maintain awareness of generational shifts and industry trends to enhance event instruction.
  • Provide speaker training and feedback to ensure effective presentations.
  • Recommend necessary tools for content delivery, such as live polling and audio streaming.
  • Manage show services to create interactive and engaging event spaces.
  • Curate networking opportunities through various digital and physical means.
  • Coordinate surprise elements and unique experiences during events.
  • Promote local culture and community engagement at events.
  • Implement AI tools for enhanced attendee interaction and engagement.
  • Ensure social media channels effectively promote events and connect with attendees.
  • Support Tyler's sustainability goals through event planning and execution.
  • Develop programs that promote corporate social responsibility and DEI efforts.
  • Coordinate attendee management processes to enhance the attendee journey.
  • Ensure compliance with risk management plans affecting attendee experience.
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of corporate event planners.
  • Maintain a master event project list and manage resources effectively.
  • Develop and implement event planning best practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business partners and suppliers.
  • Ensure events stay on budget and manage any necessary approvals for overages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable work experience.
  • 10+ years of related work experience in a corporate, agency, or hospitality environment.
  • CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) certification required.
  • CMM (Certified Meeting Manager) certification preferred.
  • DES (Digital Event Strategist) certification preferred.
  • Project management experience with prioritization and delegation skills.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and vendors.
  • Analytic thinking skills to evaluate performance and recommend improvements.
  • Ability to anticipate complications and develop contingency plans.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making and people skills.
  • Basic understanding of public sector software and marketing concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
