About the position

The Manager Event Production is responsible for overseeing the successful planning and execution of various events at Madison Square Garden venues, including concerts, family shows, and sporting events. This role involves managing operational budgets, liaising with clients and venue departments, and ensuring compliance with union regulations. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring a high-quality experience for clients and guests.

Responsibilities

• Administer all event planning with the client and venue stakeholders throughout the entire event process.
• Generate and maintain operational budgets for assigned events with timely updates.
• Track costs against budget for settlement with internal and external clients.
• Produce AutoCAD drawings for building configurations and layouts for events.
• Work with outside agencies to ensure compliance with work rules and policies.
• Schedule and direct union and non-union labor for event operations.
• Troubleshoot event day issues and respond to emergencies.
• Oversee transition from event activities to load out of equipment.
• Evaluate quality of client and guest experience through observation and feedback.

Requirements

• Minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level coursework or equivalent self-development.
• 5-7 years of experience in live event production management.
• Technical knowledge of production items including rigging, engineering review, and safety protocols.
• Knowledge of building codes and fire safety specific to MSG venues.
• Experience supervising Union and Non-Union crews.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and use sound business judgment.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
