About the position

The Manager, Facilities Maintenance Operation at Walmart is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and service operations of retail facilities. This role involves directing various systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, ensuring their optimal functioning. The manager will develop standard operating procedures, implement preventive maintenance programs, and manage complex projects to maintain operational excellence across multiple facilities within a specified region.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all general predictive and preventative maintenance of overall building systems for multiple facilities within the region.
  • Directly lead technicians conducting hands-on maintenance at the facilities.
  • Manage approximately 10-15 direct reports, providing leadership and motivation.
  • Work directly with Store Managers to address facility service needs.
  • Lead daily calls with technicians and hold them accountable for their tasks.
  • Oversee budget management and evaluate workload.
  • Ensure proper escalation of maintenance tickets.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Conduct reporting and analytics related to maintenance operations.
  • Recruit and hire technicians for the maintenance team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field and 3 years' experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, engineering, or related area OR 5 years' experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, engineering, or related area.
  • 3-5 years of general facilities services and overall building maintenance experience.
  • Experience in electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical systems.
  • Strong leadership skills to lead, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with experience in root cause and breakdown analysis.
