About the position

The Manager of Facility Management at CommonSpirit Health is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of facilities within a hospital or health center. This role includes managing various departments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading project management for construction and renovation initiatives. The manager is also tasked with financial performance, staff recruitment and training, and enhancing customer satisfaction within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of a single acute care facility totaling approximately 500,000 square feet and less than 250 licensed beds.
  • Oversee additional departments such as Environmental Services, Dietary, Transportation, Laundry, and Security.
  • Serve as the Life Safety Officer as needed.
  • Conduct monthly department meetings and ensure timely report delivery.
  • Develop and manage capital and operational budgets, ensuring appropriate use of resources.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance procedures and applicable codes and standards.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff, conducting performance evaluations and necessary meetings.
  • Develop ongoing communication plans with staff, leadership, and customers.
  • Manage the annual Program Quality Evaluation (PQE) process and ensure continued accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain records of maintenance procedures and customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 2 years in hospital maintenance or medical equipment operations management.
  • Professional designation or certification preferred (e.g., CHFM, CHC, PE).
  • Demonstrated financial and operational management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
