About the position

The Manager of Fatigue Risk Management at American Airlines is responsible for overseeing the fatigue risk management program, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and facilitating training and awareness across operational groups. This role involves analyzing fatigue events, collaborating with union labor groups, and leading a team to mitigate fatigue risks in airline operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of analysts to analyze fatigue events and evaluate trends.
  • Utilize bio-mathematical fatigue and alertness modeling software for crew member schedule design.
  • Collaborate with union labor groups and management to mitigate fatigue risk.
  • Create presentation packages for pilot fatigue reviews and coordinate compliance actions.
  • Design and deliver fatigue training packages.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for FAA Part 117 FRMS studies.
  • Lead compliance and reporting for FAR Part 117.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5 years of airline operational or management support experience.
  • Experience in human fatigue studies and safety case studies.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of FAR Part 117 and FRMS Alternative Methods of Compliance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with fatigue and alertness bio-methodical modeling software.
  • Experience with employee reporting and data trending software.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
