About the position

The Field Account Development Manager at American Express is responsible for managing and growing key client relationships within the US Small & Medium Enterprise sector. This role focuses on retention and volume growth through face-to-face interactions, ensuring clients utilize the full benefits of American Express products. The position requires a proactive approach to relationship management, consultative selling, and compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Identify accounts not utilizing full benefits of AXP commercial products and prioritize them.
  • Proactively reach out to customers to uncover opportunities and track customer spend changes.
  • Develop client-specific value propositions and strategies to meet client objectives.
  • Maintain and develop existing customer relationships to grow charge volume.
  • Negotiate and close opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell products.
  • Ensure compliance with American Express Code of Conduct and Sales Practices policies.

Requirements

  • Strong customer relationship building skills.
  • Experience in consultative selling and identifying client needs.
  • Ability to overcome objections and resistance from key decision makers.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for influencing clients.
  • Demonstrated results focus and adaptability to different situations.
  • Understanding of market, industry, and product knowledge.
