About the position

The Manager, Field Applications Engineering at Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) is a leadership role focused on mentoring emerging engineering talent and interns while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative power management solutions. The position emphasizes the importance of understanding customer needs and the competitive landscape to drive design wins and promote MPS's product portfolio in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of emerging FAE Engineering Talent and Interns in both technical and behavioral manners.
  • Role model and lead emerging FAE talent to drive new initiatives.
  • Engage with universities to align MPS technology discussions with evolving curriculum standards.
  • Promote MPS's wide portfolio of products to mass market customers.
  • Understand customer roadmaps, technology, and future needs.
  • Collaborate with business units on product roadmaps, technology investments, and product planning.
  • Drive design wins alongside Sales at customers and cultivate relationships within and outside MPS.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape for customers and develop strategies to win.

Requirements

  • EE degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in design, FAE, and/or managing a Sales or Engineering team.
  • Passion for developing and mentoring a team in a coach/role model capacity.
  • Excellent communication skills that foster a positive team dynamic.
  • Experience in design, engineering, or system architecture.
  • Strong problem-solving capability, strategic thinking, and commercial experience.
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical skills and self-motivation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and capability to communicate technical concepts to a wide audience.
