About the position

Newell Brands is seeking a Manager of Finance Process Enablement who will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting enterprise-wide programs and projects within the Finance and Accounting sectors. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance Process Enablement and is tasked with driving process improvements and supporting key functional stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and supporting initiatives and special projects, managing project resources, and tracking the progress of initiatives from initiation through implementation. The role requires a proactive approach to leading complex cross-functional initiatives that ensure the success of global and functional programs, particularly in the areas of Accounting and Finance. The Manager will work closely with functional area leaders to identify opportunities for standardization, global harmonization, and simplification of processes and controls across Newell Brands. This includes leading best practice identification and driving standardization based on business or functional feedback. The role also involves providing input to the budget process regarding the benefits realization of special initiatives and projects. In terms of project management, the Manager will collaborate with various business units to generate business cases and statements of work that define project requirements. They will develop integrated milestone and project activity plans, including change management activities and measures of success. The Manager will handle both strategic and operational responsibilities of cross-functional project teams, ensuring high-quality outputs that deliver clear value to the enterprise. They will also be responsible for monitoring project progress, Return on Investment, performance, and risks, while conducting postmortems to identify successful project elements and areas for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support enterprise-wide programs and projects within Finance and Accounting.
  • Identify and support initiatives and special projects, managing project resources and tracking progress.
  • Work with functional area leaders to standardize, harmonize, and automate processes across Newell Brands.
  • Develop business cases and statements of work to define project requirements.
  • Create integrated milestone and project activity plans, including change management activities.
  • Handle strategic and operational responsibilities of cross-functional project teams.
  • Manage project initiatives on the critical path to completion, resolving interdependencies and conflicts.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, Return on Investment, performance, and risks.
  • Conduct postmortems and create recommendations for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly desired.
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance with a focus on process improvement.
  • Experience with global processes and systems, particularly SAP; S4/Hana preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading process design and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong influencing and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment and build relationships across functions.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in Accounting roles.
  • Experience within a global Consumer Packaged Goods environment.
  • Experience in creating project charters and detailed project plans.
  • Experience in Six Sigma or LEAN; willingness to receive training required.
  • Knowledge and experience with change management as part of project management.
