About the position

The Manager of Financial Operations at Maimonides Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting the financial health of the Department of Population Health. This position involves managing financial statements, accounts receivable and payable, and preparing financial reports. The role is integral to the budgeting process and fiscal auditing, ensuring accurate financial operations within the healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with each department entity to prepare, process, and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements weekly and/or monthly.
• Handle the month-end and year-end closing process.
• Understand department programs and revenue streams to support the budgeting process and provide financial modeling.
• Support the annual fiscal auditing process in coordination with a third-party auditor.
• Issue and prepare invoices.
• Manage accounts payable and receivables.
• Perform reconciliations.
• Post and process journal entries to ensure accurate recording of business transactions.
• Develop and measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or related major is essential.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a minimum of three (3) years' professional experience.
• Proficiency in Quickbooks and advanced Excel skills required.
• Familiarity with Salesforce preferred.
• Strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in healthcare & with community-based non-profit organizations is a plus.
