About the position

The Manager of Fleet Services at Avis Budget Group is responsible for overseeing the performance of the fleet services function, which includes vehicle servicing, damage repair, and the in-fleeting and de-fleeting of rental vehicles. The role aims to maximize fleet utilization and profitability while ensuring compliance with company guidelines and maintaining high service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operating plans to maximize fleet utilization.
  • Direct and control the maintenance, repair, and reconditioning of fleet vehicles.
  • Manage the in-fleeting of new and used vehicles and de-fleeting vehicles for sale or auction.
  • Set, communicate, monitor, and update goals for key performance indicators related to service and damage.
  • Forecast, budget, and manage key financial drivers such as S&W per day and warranty recovery.
  • Coordinate automotive damage appraisals and repairs, including documentation and parts ordering.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and ensure service levels are met according to company policies.
  • Manage the repair and maintenance of buses at bussing locations.
  • Partner with Fleet owners and District/City Managers to prioritize workload based on business objectives.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by following safety policies and practices.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; 2-4 year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience in a related field (rental car, automotive shop, or service-oriented field).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and oversee multiple work areas.
