The Manager for Access and Recruitment at the University of South Carolina is a pivotal role responsible for planning and coordinating outreach and access initiatives aimed at enhancing student recruitment. This position involves managing a group of 30-50 student volunteers and supervising 1-2 student staff members. The Manager will be tasked with recruiting current students to join the volunteer program, developing and implementing training sessions, attending meetings, and coordinating efforts that engage volunteers with prospective students. The role also encompasses the development and implementation of various access initiatives, including the Carolina CLIMB initiative and Taking Carolina Home, as well as organizing on- and off-campus visits throughout the year. In addition to outreach responsibilities, the Manager will handle a full range of admissions tasks, which include recruitment travel to target high schools, planning and executing key recruitment programs both on and off campus, training volunteers who assist with recruitment efforts, and collaborating with various campus offices and organizations. The position requires extensive travel, including overnight trips, as well as some evening and weekend work to fulfill recruitment goals. The Manager will play a crucial role in representing the University of South Carolina at various events and will be involved in reviewing and making decisions on applications for admissions to the university.
