About the position

The position involves leading and managing the transformation of the Card fraud strategy to achieve best-in-class standards. The role requires engaging and collaborating with various business units and fraud risk teams to minimize fraud losses while ensuring a superior client experience. The candidate must proactively understand the broader context, envision challenges and opportunities, and drive change within the team and across the fraud landscape. A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and execute tasks with minimal supervision is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct monthly rule reviews, devise/review/approve rule strategies.
  • Lead, manage, and support projects including design and definition of solutions, UAT, and UVT.
  • Minimize fraud losses by recommending rules to detect real-time fraud proactively.
  • Provide coordination and support in the rollout and execution of processes.
  • Manage processes and activities with current capacity.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and processes.
  • Reduce fraud losses through timely placement of system parameters.
  • Manage relationships between country and other team members within Fraud Operations.
  • Provide guidance to team members on operational issues.
  • Develop and manage an information system to identify fraud trends and mitigate fraud risks.
  • Provide system and information support to all regions across CCIB.
  • Stay abreast of industry existing and emerging fraud risks.
  • Identify and share industry best practices and work with businesses for feasibility and implementation.
  • Evaluate latest practices/tools for next-generation fraud detection systems.
  • Ensure compliance of all FRM policies and procedures with Group Policies and Standards.
  • Embed the Group's values and code of conduct in Retail Risk Operations.
  • Display exemplary conduct and take personal responsibility for ethics and compliance.
  • Identify and monitor fraud threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
  • Drive enhancements for fraud risk management internal controls.
  • Collaborate with Risk and Policy Owners in various domains to deliver collective outcomes.
  • Advise stakeholders on fraud risk management.
  • Develop and implement fraud risk management strategies based on insights.
  • Support standardization, automation, and consolidation through process improvement initiatives.
  • Act quickly on any risk and control weaknesses and ensure they are addressed.
  • Share information on fraud trends and emerging threats with stakeholders.
  • Support implementation of the Group Operational Risk Framework in Risk Operations.

Requirements

  • Functional knowledge about Risk operations.
  • Experience with Card Risk tools and their functionality.
  • Proficiency in analytic tools such as SAS, R, Python, and SQL.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to create effective work relationships across functions and borders.
  • Good working knowledge of Standard Chartered's approach to risk management.

Nice-to-haves

  • CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) certification preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical tools such as SAS, Python, R, SQL preferred.
