The Marketing Manager at American Girl will play a pivotal role within the Global Brand Team (GBT), overseeing multiple product segments. This position is integral to the brand's strategy, serving as a bridge between various cross-functional partners, including design, development, finance, and commercial teams. The GBT is tasked with comprehensive product strategy, which encompasses line planning and P&L management. The Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager and other teams to successfully launch American Girl products, focusing on product development, business strategy, and daily operations. In terms of business management, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing product strategies, positioning, consumer communication, and demand creation plans for key initiatives. This role requires synthesizing data analysis to meet financial goals and shape product strategies, including setting targets and high-level forecasting based on consumer insights. The Marketing Manager will also contribute to company-wide presentations for senior management and assist in achieving top and bottom-line results by managing product plans, cost savings, product improvements, and inventory management. The role also involves line planning and management, where the Marketing Manager will work closely with Product Design, Packaging, and Development teams to ensure the timely and budget-friendly launch of innovative toys. This includes managing margin targets and line plans from inception to completion, ensuring a smooth transition to the commercial team, and coordinating with the supply chain on product retirements. The Marketing Manager will manage key product line tools and present product strategy frameworks during internal and external reviews. In terms of marketing strategy and execution, the Marketing Manager will develop a strategic framework for applicable product lines, providing brand and product direction in creative brief development and high-profile marketing efforts. They will also create demand generation plans and prioritize products accordingly. As a team leader, the Marketing Manager will manage one team member, guiding and developing staff to meet business objectives and financial targets.
