About the position

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operational performance, safety, security, productivity, cost control, customer service, and continuous improvement within the facility. This role serves as the primary point of contact between the customer and the company, exercising independent judgment and decision-making authority. The General Manager manages a team, ensuring compliance with internal policies and contractual obligations while maintaining product safety, quality, legality, and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage at least 2 full-time exempt direct reports, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Prepare, maintain, and communicate operational goals and company Standard Operations Procedures.
  • Oversee facility fiscal performance, including Profit and Loss management and yearly budget preparation.
  • Monitor space utilization/layout and make recommendations for maximizing usage.
  • Develop and implement equipment preventative maintenance programs and safety programs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of all necessary reports and records regarding facility operations.
  • Monitor facility purchasing processes, including auditing and guideline compliance, to maximize cost savings.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained to industry regulatory specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related operations discipline preferred.
  • Military rank at E-8-9 or O3-O5 is acceptable as an alternative.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of proven management experience in a large, high-volume logistics environment.
  • Experience with WMS, QDM, LMS, P&L, and talent management of managers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
