About the position

The Manager, Global Controls Office at TD Bank Group is responsible for overseeing the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) programs. This role involves managing the effectiveness of ICFR and disclosure controls, providing expertise on business process and IT risks, and establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders. The manager will also contribute to audit planning, lead audits, and ensure compliance with established standards while keeping abreast of regulatory changes that may impact the program.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ICFR controls scoping and provide expertise on business process and IT risks and controls assessments.
  • Contribute to the Audit planning process for specific businesses/functional units, including audit plans, resource requirements, and budgets.
  • Plan and lead audits, overseeing staff working on multiple audits, forming conclusions, and communicating scope/findings to business lines.
  • Perform testing of critical areas of audit and review audit documentation.
  • Oversee findings follow-up and issue validation, ensuring audits are executed in accordance with established standards.
  • Evaluate internal and external risks for assigned business lines utilizing subject matter expertise.
  • Act as primary contact with management regarding audit scope, findings, and status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years related experience required.
  • PC skills (MS Office Suite).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced critical thinking and risk-based decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Advanced awareness of laws and regulations governing the banking industry.
  • Relevant certification required (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA).
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead small to medium-sized teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • SOX audit and SOX controls testing/consulting experience.
  • Professional accounting (CPA) or audit certification (CIA, CISA).
  • Banking or consulting experience with risk as an area of focus.
