About the position

The Manager, Global Logistics Trade Management at Sysco is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end import carrier selection, tracking, and performance oversight for all Sysco entities in North America. This role ensures compliance with import, export, and supply chain security laws while providing operational support and expertise. The manager will collaborate with various teams to develop internal controls, manuals, and standard operating procedures, and will also support auditing functions to enhance Sysco's logistics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end import carrier selection and performance oversight for Sysco entities in North America.
  • Ensure compliance with import, export, and supply chain security laws and regulations.
  • Support the development of internal controls, manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in identifying trends and gaps in the Trade Compliance Program and collaborate on policy changes.
  • Support the auditing function of the Trade Compliance Program and monitor service providers.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on international logistics, trade, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with third-party service providers to ensure compliance with shipping requirements and logistics expectations.
  • Maintain oversight of supply chain product flow and ensure service and cost expectations are met.
  • Support supply chain modeling for international trade through analysis and recommendations.
  • Manage daily oversight of Global Trade Management freight costs and ensure market-relevant pricing.

Requirements

  • BS or BA degree required, preferably in supply chain management, business, or operations management.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in imports/exports managing containerized cargo.
  • Solid understanding of regulations for HTS, U.S. CBP, FDA, and Federal & International Hazardous Material Regulations.
  • Experience in import-export documentation and compliance processes.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as International Trade or Logistics.
  • Experience in cold-chain logistics and service functions within a supply chain organization.
  • Familiarity with LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities.
