About the position

The Manager of Graduate Medical Education (GME) Services at DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital is responsible for overseeing the professional, financial, and operational activities of the GME and Medical Library functions. This role involves collaboration with the Director of Medical Education and the Vice President of Medical Affairs to ensure compliance with legal requirements and accreditation guidelines while developing and implementing comprehensive medical education programs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the professional, financial, and operational activities of the GME and Medical Library functions.
  • Ensure departmental activities conform to DMC legal requirements and applicable accreditation guidelines.
  • Develop and implement programs, policies, and activities for the Department of Medical Education.
  • Oversee reporting of performance measures and development of data for the resident matching program.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection of new residency program applicants.
  • Maintain knowledge of accreditation criteria and regulatory requirements for GME programs.
  • Oversee development of curriculum and implementation of clinical and didactic experiences for training.
  • Develop and coordinate evaluation programs for internship and residency training.
  • Develop Tier 3 policies and departmental procedures in collaboration with the Medical Education Advisory Board.
  • Coordinate communication of GME policies and procedures among various stakeholders.
  • Provide input into development and revision of the GME program and personnel actions.
  • Measure and assess performance, ensuring timely completion of performance appraisals.
  • Participate in leadership activities and represent HVSH at committee meetings.
  • Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and DMC policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Health Care Administration, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Adult Education, Business, Communication, or Health Administration preferred.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in health care administration.
  • Experience with credentialing and graduate medical education/medical affairs programs.
  • Medical Library and leadership experience strongly preferred.
