About the position

The Manager, Graphic Design at NAMI is responsible for overseeing the print and digital creative design needs of the Marketing and Communications team. This role involves managing various creative projects, ensuring brand consistency, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet the organization's creative objectives. The position requires a strong understanding of design principles, technical printing standards, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and brainstorms with the creative team to define design briefs and requirements.
  • Develops creative direction, graphic design layout, and production of assigned content, including the Advocate magazine, annual report, program brochures, and digital assets.
  • Renders and presents design mockups for revision and feedback.
  • Reviews and proofreads designs to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Assists with photo research, selection, and stock image requests.
  • Manages creative asset cataloging and inventory across NAMI programs and departments.
  • Creates organization-wide templates, PowerPoint presentations, and resizes graphics as needed.
  • Adheres to NAMI Brand Guidelines for logo and font usage across platforms and materials.
  • Coaches NAMI teams and vendors to ensure high-quality graphic design that aligns with the NAMI brand.
  • Keeps up to date with the latest design trends, techniques, and printing standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual arts, or related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in graphic design across both print and digital media.
  • Strong portfolio of print design materials, including print magazine design experience.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal.
  • Willingness to learn new design software and techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple design projects and perform under pressure.
  • Advanced ability in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), common design and content management tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Must pass background check.
