About the position

The Operations Development Manager for Hair at L'Oreal will oversee package development and project management activities to ensure timely and cost-effective new product launches and maintenance of the Haircare portfolio. This role involves identifying new processes for cost reduction and leading package innovation, while collaborating with various teams to drive impactful projects from inception to market launch.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop packaging components.
  • Provide direction to test and evaluate packaging components.
  • Coordinate meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Guide Marketing in creating new product briefs.
  • Influence product conception with a focus on consumer centricity and sustainability objectives.
  • Act as a communication link between the Division and Industrial teams.
  • Prepare and track project development timelines.
  • Manage projects through QCP (Quality Control Process).
  • Conduct feasibility costs and COG (Cost of Goods) analysis.
  • Coordinate risk analysis and communication.
  • Approve aesthetics and colors with Marketing.
  • Support value analysis for the plant and team.
  • Coordinate with Research and Development.
  • Manage project work as necessary or required.
  • Interface with manufacturing management and related functional areas.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of new trends within the packaging discipline.
  • Provide development support to team members on project launches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in package/product development and project management, preferably in cosmetics or consumer goods.
  • Ability to travel to vendors and plants (10-15% of time).
  • Proficient in PC skills, including MS Project and MS Office software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing documentation and materials.
  • Ability to assume a leadership role in Brand Development and special projects.
  • Continuously develop and stay updated on new trends and technologies.
  • Team-oriented with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
