About The Position

The hardware test engineering team at Zoox is responsible for building out the continuous integration infrastructure that supports the development of fully autonomous vehicles. This team is at the forefront of vehicle architecture, ensuring that test asset designs are aligned with the latest technological advancements. The role involves close collaboration with various teams, including manufacturing, operations, and logistics, to facilitate the transition of designs to scalable production. The primary goal is to ensure that the test assets function effectively for customers, are easy to maintain by operations teams, and provide robust support and troubleshooting for any incidents that may arise. In this position, you will work cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, system architecture, firmware development, hardware-in-the-loop, and firmware validation teams. Your responsibilities will include defining and reviewing test infrastructure designs, managing the build queue, and coordinating with manufacturing teams to address any changes that may occur. You will also lead efforts to enhance documentation practices and ensure that logistics standards are upheld throughout the team, utilizing industry-standard tools such as Catia and Enovia. Regular updates and progress reports on support and troubleshooting for design assets will also be part of your duties. The ideal candidate will possess a BS degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering, along with hands-on technical experience in leading small teams focused on debugging software-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices. Experience in developing test fixtures and systems throughout the design process, from requirements gathering to design review and build, is essential. Familiarity with common lab equipment and data acquisition tools is also required, as is the ability to maintain meticulous documentation standards for harnessing, BOM, assembly, and troubleshooting.
