About the position

The Manager of Hospital Quality plays a crucial role in supporting the design, monitoring, analysis, and improvement of patient care organizational functions under the direction of the Director of Quality/Risk Management. This position is responsible for implementing the day-to-day Quality/Risk Management Program as outlined in the Quality/Risk Management Plan. Key responsibilities include data collection, analysis, and reporting of care and risk activities. The Manager will work closely with the Safety Officer, unit managers, and medical staff to coordinate the medical staff quality program and the hospital's risk management program. This role requires a thorough understanding of performance improvement techniques and standards, as well as the ability to develop policies and procedures that enhance patient care and safety. The ideal candidate will possess a level of knowledge equivalent to four years of training from an accredited college, preferably as a registered nurse or in another healthcare discipline. A minimum of one to two years of experience as a registered nurse is required. The position demands strong analytical abilities to participate in the development of policies and procedures, conduct clinical case reviews, and develop methods for deficiency resolution. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Midas, and other system-wide computer data-based software applications is essential. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent presentation skills for online case reviews during Medical Staff Peer Review activities and strong written communication skills to effectively convey the peer review committee's interventions. Traits such as being a self-starter and being people-oriented are important for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, monitoring, analysis, and improvement of patient care organizational functions.
  • Implement the day-to-day Quality/Risk Management Program as outlined in the Quality/Risk Management Plan.
  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and reporting of care and risk activities.

  • Communicate the peer review committee's interventions through written reports.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Four years of training from an accredited college in nursing or a related healthcare discipline.
  • One to two years of experience as a registered nurse.
  • Strong analytical ability to develop policies and procedures and conduct clinical case reviews.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Midas software applications.
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills.
