About the position

The Manager, HR Operations plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing effective HR technology solutions to support WCK's mission and organizational objectives. This position is responsible for leading day-to-day HR operations and requires a commitment to the organization's mission, with flexibility to work across multiple time zones. The role is hybrid, based in Washington DC, and reports to the VP, Total Rewards and People Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer BambooHR, enhancing functionality and efficiency.
  • Research and recommend new HR technology functionalities to meet business needs.
  • Serve as internal Project Manager for HR technology implementations.
  • Manage system updates and adoption of new features, including configuration and training.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure data quality.
  • Document and maintain HR processes and procedures involving systems.
  • Develop and maintain workforce analytic reports and dashboards.
  • Provide analytical support to HR and leaders for report preparation.
  • Maintain database integrity and accuracy through audits and corrections.
  • Collaborate with HR/Payroll teams to train internal system users.
  • Ensure compliance of HR-related systems with data protection laws.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot HR information systems, including upgrades.
  • Provide production support for system problems and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain system administration responsibilities, including security access.

Requirements

  • Alignment with the mission and values of WCK.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related human resources management experience.
  • Significant experience managing and developing HRIS, LMS, and other HR platforms.
  • BambooHR experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting staff in multiple locations and time zones.
  • Effective leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop effective relationships across departments and with stakeholders.
  • Proficient at working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Talent for working calmly under pressure and achieving outcomes.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Thorough knowledge of US Federal labor laws and HR standards.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally, including internationally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current HR certifications (HRCI or SHRM).
  • Proficiency in other languages or fluent Spanish.
  • Prior humanitarian management experience.
  • Prior volunteer experience.
