About the position

The Manager, HRIS at American Airlines is a strategic role within the HR Technology team, responsible for driving efficiency through technology solutions and managing a team of system administrators and Product Owners. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to oversee multiple projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations while enhancing HR systems capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of system administrators and Product Owners to support HR business areas through technology.
  • Act as the Agile Product Manager for various HR systems, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Oversee the design of technical solutions to meet business needs and enhance system capabilities.
  • Collaborate with HR Product Owners, Payroll, and HRIT to ensure organizational consistency and improve processes.
  • Research and recommend technology and automation to replace manual processes with innovative solutions.
  • Ensure business requirements and user acceptance testing comply with regulatory and contractual obligations.
  • Identify and address organizational change management activities related to HR systems.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining HRIS strategy and roadmaps aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage the implementation of new products, processes, and requirements, including overseeing system release updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading a technical team in an Agile environment.
  • Previous experience in HRIS management, including system implementation, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of data privacy and security regulations and processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with SuccessFactors suite of applications, particularly Employee Central.
  • Experience in developing and facilitating Design Thinking sessions.
  • Proficiency in database management and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of programming languages or scripting (e.g., SQL).
  • Active SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central accreditation or certification.
