About the position

The HSEQ Manager at BWC Terminals is responsible for leading the strategic development and implementation of comprehensive Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) programs across the organization. This role ensures regulatory compliance, aligns HSEQ initiatives with business objectives, and fosters a culture of safety and operational excellence. The HSEQ Manager will also drive customer service quality through a robust management system and provide leadership and mentorship to HSEQ personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of assigned HSEQ programs and drive the HSEQ culture.
  • Develop and implement the company-wide HSEQ vision, strategy, and goals.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of HSEQ programs across all BWC Terminals facilities.
  • Stay updated on evolving HSEQ regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable HSEQ regulations.
  • Conduct comprehensive HSEQ audits to identify compliance gaps.
  • Analyze HSEQ data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for compliance issues.
  • Oversee the quality management system to ensure best-in-class customer service.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the quality management system based on feedback.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to HSEQ personnel.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing HSEQ team focused on safety.
  • Communicate HSEQ policies and performance metrics to all employees.
  • Liaise with senior management to integrate HSEQ objectives into business planning.
  • Build relationships with external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field (experience can substitute for degree).
  • Minimum ten years' experience in terminal industry or chemical/heavy manufacturing.
  • Experience working with hazardous and flammable products.
  • Knowledge of the bulk liquid storage industry and HSEQ practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and regulations.
  • Ability to apply policies and regulations to operations effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations (OSHA, SARA, RCRA, etc.).
  • Ability to write reports and documents clearly.
  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups and maintain effective relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with general direction.
