About the position

As the Manager of Human Resources at GXO, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive work environment that enhances employee engagement and productivity. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a liaison between employees and management, ensuring that the values of the company are championed and that a differentiated and engaged workforce is maintained. You will be tasked with administering HR policies and programs to ensure compliance in various areas including staffing and recruitment, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, and personnel records administration. Your leadership will be crucial in creating an open-door climate that encourages communication and collaboration between plant operations and the HR team. In this role, you will handle all aspects of the HR department, which includes legal compliance, policy enforcement, benefits management, and overseeing the hiring, retention, and termination processes. You will supervise HR staff and keep senior management informed of any internal and external HR developments that may impact the overall effectiveness of the organization. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing HR reports to upper management as requested, ensuring that the HR function aligns with the business strategies to deliver excellent customer service. Your success in this position will be measured by your ability to resolve employee issues effectively, maintain a positive employee relations climate, and contribute to the overall success of the organization. Responsibilities

  • Administer Human Resources (HR) policies and programs to ensure compliance in staffing and recruitment, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, time and attendance record keeping, and personnel records administration.
  • Work closely with plant operations and HR team to ensure a positive 'open door' climate.
  • Ensure employee and business strategies result in excellent customer service.
  • Handle all aspects of the HR department, including administration, legal compliance, policy/procedure enforcement, benefits, compensation, hiring, retention and termination.
  • Supervise HR staff.
  • Keep senior management and operations informed of internal and external HR developments that may impact overall effectiveness.
  • Provide HR reports to upper management as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience.
  • 5 years of HR management experience.
  • Experience in employee relations, policy and procedure administration, recruiting and staffing, HRIS and timekeeping systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Proven track record and increasing levels of responsibility in the HR field.

  • Demonstrated success resolving employee issues in an 'open door' environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Ability to provide management with proactive ideas on creating and maintaining a positive employee relations climate.
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels in the organization.
