About the position

The position involves managing and directing team member relations, recruitment, training, and team member activities under the guidance of the Director of Human Resources. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring adherence to company values and policies, facilitating conflict resolution, overseeing performance management processes, and developing effective training programs. The role also includes maintaining financial oversight of the Sunshine Fund and ensuring compliance with gaming regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and departmental policies.
  • Set an example for team members by displaying company values.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Develop and implement effective policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and oversee the Sunshine Fund, including fundraising efforts.
  • Work with Finance to maintain financial accounting of the Sunshine Fund.
  • Ensure management adherence to existing policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate resolutions to complaints and conflicts.
  • Investigate complaints of harassment or misconduct and resolve situations appropriately.
  • Prepare documentation for employment separation recommendations.
  • Conduct exit interviews to identify causes of dissatisfaction.
  • Coach and counsel management and team members for fair treatment and communication.
  • Serve as a link between management and team members to resolve conflicts.
  • Manage the Board of Review Appeal process.
  • Oversee the Performance Management process, including appraisals and action plans.
  • Supervise HR staff and ensure their development and performance.
  • Assist in the development of Seminole Tribe members in the Career Development program.
  • Notify management of any illegal acts or ethics violations.
  • Partner with management to identify training needs and apply leadership skills to training functions.
  • Develop creative recruiting strategies to attract talent.
  • Screen and interview candidates, performing reference checks as necessary.
  • Ensure requisitions are filled expeditiously with qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related area.
  • Two years of directly related experience in developing adult education/training courses.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Proficient in the use of the Internet and Microsoft Office tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior gaming and/or hospitality experience preferred.
  • ASTD membership is a plus.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
