About the position

The Manager, Cyber Security Engineering - SSE at Navy Federal Credit Union is responsible for overseeing a team of Cyber Security Engineers with a focus on Secure Service Edge (SSE) technologies. This role involves providing technical leadership, project management, and hands-on support in areas such as proxy, Zero Trust Network Access, and Unified Threat Management. The position requires collaboration with various teams to develop and deploy security solutions, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of cyber engineers supporting technologies within the area of focus.
  • Enforce new and existing team standards to foster consistency across systems and operations.
  • Lead troubleshooting initiatives and ensure proper resource assignment.
  • Evaluate technical solutions in response to business challenges.
  • Provide thought leadership in support of continuous improvements and service maturation.
  • Present technical solutions as needed for knowledge sharing and acceptance.
  • Provide project support and status reporting.
  • Establish and maintain system documentation.
  • Represent changes via CAB meetings.
  • Collaborate with partnering teams in support of solution development and deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Active CISSP Certification.
  • Expert level technical and operational experience with Palo Alto Prisma solution.
  • Expert level technical and operational experience with BlueCoat proxies or similar solutions.
  • Experience implementing and managing Unified Threat Management solutions.
  • Experience with Zero Trust Network Access.
  • Expert level experience in Cyber Engineering with a concentration on SSE security.
  • Expert level experience with System design, administration and security.
  • Proficient and professional verbal and written communication, including group training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum (3-5) years' experience with Network design, administration and security.
  • Active Palo Alto or Cisco certification.
  • Practical understanding of machine learning and automation.
