The Manager I - Desktop Engineering is a pivotal role within Navy Federal, responsible for leading the desktop engineering team to ensure high-quality service delivery and operational excellence. This position involves managing professionals and leaders, with a strong focus on performance and results. The Manager I will guide the team in adhering to established policies, resources, and business plans, ensuring that the team's output meets the organization's quality, volume, and timeliness objectives. The role requires a proactive approach to overseeing day-to-day activities, providing 24x7 support and guidance to team members and assistant managers, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. In this role, the Manager I will be responsible for monitoring metric and Service Level Agreement (SLA) adherence, coaching technical staff through both new and routine tasks, and identifying opportunities for service improvement. The position also entails overseeing technical compliance with organizational directives and standards related to the systems under management. The Manager I will ensure that all programs and projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Additionally, the role includes tracking data and writing reports on team objectives and metrics, as well as maintaining desktop services throughout the organization by effectively assigning resources. The Manager I will also oversee supervisory functions, including conducting performance evaluations, facilitating team meetings, and holding one-on-one sessions with team members. Building and maintaining relationships with supporting vendors is another critical aspect of this role, ensuring that vendor performance aligns with contractual obligations.
