About the position
As an Engineering Manager on the Metrics Platform at Datadog, you will lead a team responsible for the scheduling and execution of queries that support critical infrastructure monitoring features. The role emphasizes scalability, accuracy, and reliability, with a focus on developing a roadmap to enhance the metrics platform's features while ensuring operational excellence. You will manage a diverse team of software engineers, fostering their career development and collaborating with product and engineering leaders.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of software engineers, focusing on career development and inclusivity.
- Serve as a technical leader, reviewing architecture decisions, RFCs, and pull requests.
- Collaborate with engineering and product leaders to define OKRs and roadmaps.
- Share on-call responsibilities and promote a culture of operational excellence.
- Optimize team processes to ensure high-quality work delivery.
Requirements
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Experience in managing high-scale customer-facing services with a focus on uptime and performance.
- Track record of delivering high-quality software products on schedule.
- Experience in incident response, writing post mortems, and driving remediation efforts.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
