About the position

The Manager II, Engineering (Automation/Controls) at B. Braun Medical, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the engineering departments, managing day-to-day operations, and leading the strategic capital equipment build process. This role involves developing and executing a multi-year lifecycle management plan for controls systems and ensuring the reliability of the organization's machinery and equipment. The position requires a strong focus on optimizing engineering activities, enhancing maintenance capabilities, and managing relationships with external contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering activities to ensure reliable operation of buildings, facilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage engineering activities to minimize business disruptions.
  • Develop and implement engineering, production, and maintenance procedures to optimize resources and achieve safety standards.
  • Research and recommend new maintenance equipment and tools to enhance maintenance capabilities.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with external contractors to ensure satisfactory service standards.
  • Coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with operational area managers.
  • Estimate costs, time, and resources for repair/upgrade projects and monitor progress against estimates.
  • Plan and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance activities for electrical and building management systems.
  • Responsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10-12 years of related experience required.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Hands-on experience in Controls, SCADA, and MES.
  • Knowledge of computerized system validation and project life cycle phases.
  • Advanced knowledge of professional field and industry.
