About the position

The Manager II, Engineering (Automation/Controls) at B. Braun Medical Inc. is responsible for overseeing the engineering department's daily operations, leading the strategic capital equipment build process, and implementing computerized technologies. This role involves lifecycle management of control systems and ensuring the reliability of the organization's facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day engineering activities to ensure reliable operation of buildings, facilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage engineering activities to minimize business disruptions due to breakdowns and malfunctions.
  • Develop and assist with implementing engineering, production, and maintenance procedures to optimize resources and achieve safety standards.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new maintenance equipment and tools to enhance maintenance capabilities.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external contractors to minimize costs and ensure satisfactory service standards.
  • Liaise with operational area managers to coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with their operations.
  • Estimate costs, time, and resources for repair/upgrade projects and monitor progress against estimates.
  • Plan, direct, and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance activities for reliable operation of electrical systems and building management systems.
  • Responsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10-12 years of related experience required.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Hands-on experience in Controls, SCADA, and MES.
  • Knowledge of computerized system validation and all phases of project life cycle.
  • Advanced knowledge of professional field and industry.
