About the position

The Manager II, Engineering (Automation/Controls) at B. Braun Medical Inc. is responsible for overseeing the engineering department's daily operations, leading the strategic capital equipment build process, and managing the lifecycle of control systems. This role involves ensuring the reliability of the organization's facilities and equipment, optimizing engineering activities, and collaborating with various functional areas to minimize disruptions and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day engineering departments.
  • Lead strategic capital equipment build process.
  • Develop vision and strategy for the implementation of computerized technologies.
  • Develop and execute multi-year lifecycle management of controls systems.
  • Responsible for upkeeping and maintaining OT infrastructure.
  • Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage engineering activities to rectify breakdowns and minimize business disruptions.
  • Develop and assist with implementing engineering, production, and maintenance procedures.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external contractors.
  • Liaise with functional or operational area managers to coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Estimate costs, time, and resources for repair/upgrade projects.
  • Plan, direct, and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for personnel actions including hiring and performance management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10-12 years related experience required.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Experience in machine design, automation, and software development.
  • Hands-on experience in Controls, SCADA, and MES.
  • Knowledge of computerized system validation and project life cycle phases.
  • Advanced knowledge of professional field and industry.
