About the position

The Manager II, National Sales is responsible for managing national sales events and program creation and implementation within Honda's Powersports division. This role involves analyzing sales performance against business plans, tracking competitive situations, and developing initiatives with key stakeholders to support overall business objectives. The manager will oversee the creation and distribution of communications related to Powersports products and manage the Rider Education program to enhance training and reduce fatalities among riders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage national sales events and program creation/implementation.
  • Analyze Powersports sales (retail and wholesale) against business plans.
  • Conduct competitive situation analysis and industry trend analysis.
  • Develop programs and initiatives with key stakeholders and senior management.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of communications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and recommend countermeasures as needed.
  • Act as the conduit between AHFC and outside vendors.
  • Manage the Rider Education program and its coordinators.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
  • 8-10 years of work experience with 4-6+ years in a wholesale/retail sales environment (Powersports dealership, OEM or Aftermarket).
  • Experience in plan development and tracking against results.
  • Preferred 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Powersports and/or Power Equipment products and markets.
  • Strong customer-service characteristics including communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills to prioritize competing initiatives.
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities for problem-solving in complex environments.
  • Attention to detail and reliable documentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate direction to the team.
  • Experience exercising discretion with sensitive company information.
  • Ability to interface with management and associates.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge in SAP, Document Direct, Business Objects, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
