The Real Estate Manager's primary purpose is to manage complex lease and legal negotiations, real estate market and costs valuations, complex commercial/retail developments, complex purchase and sale contracts, acquisitions, and other high-level strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for managing, negotiating, documenting, and analyzing the most complex transactions, acquisitions, and developments and as needed provides guidance to Directors on large capital projects. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining a complete knowledge of Food Lion stores, basic store operations, competitive stores, strategy and activity, and real estate market fundamentals in order to lead the development of Food Lion's real estate strategic plan which is critical to the Company's growth. The incumbent is constantly challenged to oversee and advance the Company's most complex, high-risk, and expensive projects in the most highly competitive, aggressive, dynamic, and sophisticated real estate environments. The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day advancement of Food Lion's real estate strategy and capital plan implementation in markets with limited daily access to supporting departments. The incumbent also has responsibility for mentoring and providing guidance to the other members of the Real Estate Team and be a key onsite contact for the Food Lion leadership team.
